[TL;DR >> skip to the bottom for links to my new site]

I’ve seen this day coming for a long time, and I’m sure some of you have too. I’ve been increasingly disinterested and uninvested in this here blog over this past year, and it has showed. For awhile I was attributing it to being busy (after all, a lot has happened this year, between graduating from college, traveling frequently throughout the summer, and then moving to Columbus to start my adult life).

But then I wised up and realized that it wasn’t because I was busy. It was because I wasn’t passionate about it anymore. Plain and simple, I outgrew Primal Bites.

My interests, eating style, and passions, evolved and I didn’t bring the blog with me. I was in a creative rut and I felt trapped within the confines I had built for myself when branding Primal Bites. Now, I’m ready for Primal Bites to evolve, but that means putting it to rest and starting something new.

Within the first few months of launching Primal Bites back in 2013, Megan and Brandon of Health-Bent (one of my favorite paleo blogs) posted this photo,

and announced that they were quitting paleo, and effectively quitting their blog. They recounted their learning process from the several years they spent researching, experiencing, and writing about food, and concluded that paleo (whatever that means these days– everyone has a different idea) was not for them. Their honesty was SO refreshing, and I remember thinking, wow, that’s ballsy but good for them, sticking to their guns.

And now I’m sticking to my guns.

In recent months I’ve been extremely inspired by two of my friends, Steph and Stacy, for segueing their businesses in order to stay true to themselves.  Steph, better known as Stupid Easy Paleo, launched several ventures under her personal brand Steph Gaudreau, including the Harder To Kill podcast, the Women’s Strength Summit, and several coaching programs. Stacy along with her husband Matt, formerly known as the Paleo Parents, rebranded as Real Everything because they wanted to be real and post what they wanted to post about, not just what their followers wanted to see.

Steph and Stacy don’t know it but they blazed my path for me. They gave me the confidence to do exactly what I’m doing right now. So thank you, ladies.

And with that, I introduce to you Pearls Before Twine, my new lifestyle blog and handmade wall hangings shop dedicated to slow living, mindfulness, and building community. Over on the new website I’ll be posting about DIY projects, personal style, minimalism, health, sustainability, and of course, real food. In the Etsy shop I’ll be selling handmade garlands and wall hangings made from fabric, card stock, and recycled materials.

I’m stoked. I feel as though the creative fire has been lit under my tookus again. And I hope at least a few of you will stick around for it.

And for those of you thinking but what will happen to all of your recipes here?!  Don’t fret. I’m leaving the Primal Bites website up for one more year, giving you plenty of time to come back to retrieve your favorite recipes. Over time, I will also be re-sharing some of my best recipes over on Pearls Before Twine.

So what are we waiting for? Let’s get this party started!
